Knowing now that he would have to keep this charade up if it meant staying in a rent-controlled apartment, Joey went on to marry Tim, have five children by his name, move out of the rent-controlled apartment to a nice house in the suburbs, lobby for a raise at work, use the extra money to surprise Tim with a $5,000 investment on his dream of selling jars of honey, take a second honeymoon in the Maldives, go to their sons' Pop Warner games together, take their oldest daughter around the country to look at colleges in a big loving road trip, eventually sell the house for a quaint one-story in their old age, hold their first grandchildren together, ride a ferry out to see the Statue of Liberty like they always said they would do, hold hands as the 4th of July fireworks popped and crackled above, say goodbye to him on the hospital bed, then soon lose grip on living himself in the lonely weeks to come. Just so as not to risk confrontation.
