Her friends tried to stop her from getting more, but it was too late: She was addicted. The next day, she breezed into a sketchy ink parlor in Chinatown, asking to get the Chinese symbol for "I'm dissatisfied with where I've ended up in life and I'm trying to reclaim control by marking up my body with things I'll regret mere months from now." Since that was precisely what the tattoo artist was going to draw on her as a prank, he felt he had no choice but to instead ink the symbol for "Strength." She never knew the difference anyway.
