Maybe that’s because they didn’t take the joke seriously or literally, and understood it wasn’t an implication he was trying to rape her. Instead they realized it was a really bold and often offensive statement that would normally get a guy kicked in the nuts. That’s why they say, “yet it works”. Its like if he tried picking up a Mexican girl saying, “I like when a girl is still wet behind the ears,” and they said it always worked.
